Cancer is one of the leading causes of death around the world. Resources for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer are limited or not available at all in low and middle income countries. The result is that 70% of all cancer deaths occur in these countries.
But, all countries can prevent or cure many cancers and lessen the suffering by implementing the four basic components of cancer control: prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and palliative care.
